blackbird's two minute movie reviews
Bridesmaids. I saw Bridesmaids.
Okay, so, I'm going to watch Hanging Up now. Not a great movie either but, at least, I get to look at Meg Ryan and her beautiful house.

So.
Phenomenal success, this movie, am I right?
Let's have a look at the IMDB synopsis:
Annie (Kristen Wiig), is a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.
Sounds okay. K had fallen asleep and it occurred to me that I had attempted watching it once before but, I don't know, went to bed instead?
I should have done that this time too.
I think I might be the wrong demographic for movies with diarrhea jokes.
I searched for a decent photo and found this picture of poor Maya Rudolph, at the opening event for the movie, which appears to have been held in a shopping mall somewhere, wearing what appears to be the most unfortunate maternity dress ever constructed.

Comments
Terrible. That movie was terrible. A few good scenes, yes, but far too many awkward/disgusting/painful scenes, interspersed with such boredom that I nearly fell asleep.
And, I was offended that anyone would think that women would want to see diarrhea humor. We're better than that.
We had movie weekend here. I had to leave the room for Safe House. It was giving me anxiety. We also watched Puss In Boots and then Valentine's Day (for the second time).
Classic BB!
I didn't care much for that movie either but I do like Melissa McCarthy in just about anything. She was perfect in The Nines(I read somewhere that movie was written specifically for her!) and the short film God. Never saw Gillmore Girls though.
