an open letter

Dear Universe,

Could you possibly make anything clearer?
K is not meant to have a staff position. That's fine. Sure, I/we made plans for all manner of wealth and, now, it is not meant to be. That is FINE. K is off on another wonderful free-lance adventure, with people who love him. It's FINE. Of course we would appreciate the comfort that comes from a full-time staff position but, clearly, there is no thrill in that type of employ.
We are grateful for the work we both have and appreciate the roof over our heads and the health of our children.
Have I covered it all?
Yes?
Good. Let us never mention it again.  I'm a little tired anyway.

Yours sincerely,

bb

Kidding! Good letter. Although now that you've put that out there, something irresitible is going to come prancing along. I think that's how it's supposed to work, anyway.

Food!
Oh, yes. There is always food on our table, and wonderful food at that.
We completely thankful for being able to eat each day.
We would never take our nourishment for granted.

That ought to do it.

Oh! Wait!
One cannot fully express the awe and amazement we feel about our relationships within our home. We truly appreciate each other every day.

There. I think that's it then.

What about your friends?! No love for the people OUTSIDE your perfectly appointed and welcoming to a fault abode?!

Bless you! After many years of adjuncting, my hubby JUST got a full time professor gig. I feel your pain. Of course, we are moving from WA all the way to FLA, but you know... there are trade-offs. :) Practicing thankfulness with you.

But how stressful to not have the regularity.
I humbly stand corrected! Love you!! All will be well, all will be well, all things shall be well.
