we'll take a cup of kindness yet

I am not good with the whole New Year's Eve thing.
It doesn't sit well with me.
I don't like celebrating a year gone - though 2011 did me no favors. Perhaps I'm being negative? It saw the ends of several things, I was not perfectly healthy, K was not busy enough, we struggled from time to time. Then again, we went to Holland, I love my job, K did some excellent projects, the children are well...I count my blessings.
What will we do tonight? It depends. I usually like to go off to bed and ignore midnight, but the last few years Youngest has asked if I'd sit up with him and wait for the new year. He's still in bed or I'd ask him.
I think we should all sit up till midnight as I have a bottle of champagne. I think we should toast together and have Oliebollen as K is making some.
The five of us chipped in on the blu-ray dvd set of Star Wars movies (I was simply assisting my family) and so, perhaps, we could watch a movie, have a toast and run off to our beds.
Let us hope 2012 will be kind to us, let us wish 2012 will be kind to you -

And there's a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o' thine !
And we'll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

Happy happy new year to you and K and the boys. xo
Here's a toast to health and happiness in 2012.
I'm not sorry to see 2011 go.
I'm cooking a ham and twice baked potato casserole, Sorority Girl will be off to a party and hubs and I will search Netflix for a good movie.

I usually get sad on new years... as I reflect on the past year, and worry about what the next one has in store. But not this year... I am so happy to be rid of 2011! So, not a good year...

I hope 2012 only brings you and your men good things...

I am amazed at how 2011 was a bad year for so many people.
So let's stay up and let's toast to the new year waltz in with a smile on our faces and a heart full of joy.
Tomorrow will be better!

Sounds lovely. We had a special dinner here at home and played board games and cards until the 9 o'clock fireworks were on tv and then sent the kids off to bed. We stayed up for another hour and then turned in. Wishing you a very happy 2012, BB, may it be filled job security and good health.

May 2012 be filled with good things - big and little, planned and unexpected. And good health, definitely good health. X

I have a thing in the Big City near Tuvalu in June, so I already know 2012 will be better than 2011. And if I get to rendezvous with you, when I'm in your neck of the woods, even better!

In the meantime, Happy New Year, bb! Here's hoping 2012 brings us all much laughter, love, joy and fulfillment. And good health. And lots of good news to report. And, if it's not too much to ask, plenty of lovely new shoes.

Its a bit after midnight here in Colorado and I just came inside. I was watching the fireworks set off from the top of Pikes Peak. Always a sight to behold.
I was thinking about the year that passed and my wishes for the year to come.
I hope everybody here has a great year. Great happiness, health, wealth, and food.
BB, I so tatally enjoy reading about you and your family. Thanks for keeping us posted.
AND, I enjoy reading everybody's comments here. So many nice people from ALL OVER THE WORLD. You folks just make my day. Thanks for putting up with my warped sence of humor.
Maybe I'll in the lottery THIS year. I still want to eat my way across Europe!
Take care,
Scot

I just love you and yours, bb, and wish you lots of everything good for 012. And gosh, the older I get the more I know that good health is pretty much everything. So you take care of yourself.

Three cheers to ALL of bb's commenters (right on, Scot!). Everyone who comes here must be drinking out of that kindness cup yet.

This may be late, but today is the "official" New Year's Day here in Pasadena... and I just wanted to send you my wishes for good things (I don't mean "things," really... "times" I guess) in 2012.
