Sunday dinner

bread

I had rather be shut up in a very modest cottage with my books, my family and a few old friends, dining on simple bacon, and letting the world roll on as it liked, than to occupy the most splendid post, which any human power can give.

~Thomas Jefferson

The quality of food is in inverse proportion to a dining room's altitude, especially atop bank and hotel buildings (airplanes are an extreme example).

Beautiful. Was it a dinner party, or just the boys? I look forward to the days when we can have a beautiful table and lingering dinner with our children. We all eat together each night, but it doesn't look like that!

That looks exactly like what I cooked a few days ago. I had to do a double take at the first photo! Same pan, same veggies, same crusted roast!
I'll be there next Sunday......

Was this your house? The dining room must be lovely. Those tulips in that vase, beautiful.

It all looks so lovely; did I spy that famous bread up top?

Mmmmm. I can't decide if my favorite part is the candlelight or the wine or the pitcher vase of tulips. Or maybe the entire thing.

what's in the crust on the pork to make it so dark and delicious looking?
