housework meme

This has ME written all over it.
But I lifted it from Jenny...

aprons -
y/n?
Yes. I have three and I wear them ALL THE TIME. Perhaps you remember my campaign to have them included in our every day wardrobes?

baking - sometimes. Not often enough. I've got the no-knead bread down perfectly though.

clothesline - y/n? I wish. My yard is all shade. I may try anyway.

donuts - ever made them? We have made vetbollen.

everyday - one homemaking thing you do everyday? Laundry? Clean the kitchen?

freezer - do you have a separate deep freezer? We DID. And then we realized we were paying a lot of money to run it each year and that were buying things we didn't need or want and WE UNPLUGGED IT.

garbage disposal - y/n? Yessireebob. We have sewers. I do try to be responsible about what goes in it.

handbook - y/n? I have no idea what this means.

ironing - love it or hate it? LOVE IT.

junk drawer - where is it? Two of them. I have been sticking to my throw three things out policy and they are pretty cleaned up.

kitchen - design and decorating? Oh, come on, you know this. Cherry cabinets, green granite, black and white floor, incredibly huge farm sink, two cheese drawers.

love - what is your favorite part of homemaking? Making a wonderful place for us to come back to each day.

mop - y/n? Sponge mop, but not very often. Sometimes never.

nylons - wash them by hand or in the washer? Tights, in the washer.

oven - do you use the window or open it to check? Open it.

pizza -
what do you put on yours? Everything but anchovies and pineapple.

quiet - what do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment? Read blogs or magazines.

recipe card box -
Notebook or hard drive.

style of house –
Cape Cod.

tablecloths and napkins - y/n? Yes.

under the kitchen sink – Cleaning supplies, dog biscuits.

vacuum - how many times a week? Twice a week.

wash - how many loads do you do a week? Eight to ten.

x’es - do you keep a list of things to do and cross them off? All the time.

yard - who does what? We all do everything. O and his men do big jobs.

zzz’s - what is your last homemaking task for the day? Dimming the dining room light, checking the doors, figuring out who's home and who's due home and when.

handbook = One of those "how to keep house" books, as in "do you use one?"

At least that's what I think it means.

That's what I was going to say.

Or, (my other thought) do you have a handbook that you've made up? (Some books recommend you have your own 3 ring binder with when you do stuff.)

Says the woman who has read all the books but clearly none of it has sunk in. Still not doing this meme.

Now I assumed it was the Martha Stewart Hanbook on Housework. I don't know why, probably because I watch a bit too much Martha and that's the book she's pushing right now. However, I cannot EVER see myself reading a 500 page tome on housekeeping. Ever.

I'm usually in the I hate housework category, however either have a bug in the system or am full of shit. At 1am last night I took the time to straigten up a cabinet of travel mugs, coffee mugs with shot glasses (where else do you keep them!), and spice/tea shelf. And was quite satisfied with my spur of the moment craziness.

But oh my lord if I ever get the brand of craziness that includes making a housework handbook, or gasp, reading one of those above, shoot me and ask questions later.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves ironing. People have been telling me I'm mad for years. Now I know I'm not alone.
