at dinner

The players: bb, Middle, Youngest
The scene: the dining table. Macaroni and cheese, burgers, and cucumbers are also present

bb: (to Middle) Let's see...what did you do in Earth Science today - wait, let me guess, dirt plus water equals mud.

Middle: Close! We studied erosion!

bb: Isn't that WATER PLUS DIRT EQUALS MUD?

Middle: Yes, but we took pebbles, which we had weighed, put them in a test tube with water, sealed it and shook them for three minutes, after which, we poured off the water and re-weighed the pebbles. They weighed an nth less. It was fascinating.

bb: (turning to Youngest) And you? What did you do in science today?

Youngest: We studied extinct animals!

bb: Who CARES?! THEY'RE DEAD!

Youngest: (rolls eyes) We talked about the Dodo...does it have FEATHERS? or FINS?

bb: Who CARES?

Youngest: -And we talked about the Texas Red Wolf...

bb: Which, let me guess, IS FROM TEXAS -

Middle: And dead.

Youngest: And the Sahara Boa -

bb: ACK! IT'S SO HOT AND DRY HERE! I THINK I'LL DIE!

Middle: The unicorn...the dragon...the pint size milk container...all dead.

Youngest: ...

The spork. It's dead too. I can't find one anywhere.
