I'll be meme for christmas

Hot chocolate or eggnog?
Hot chocolate, but I am going to try my Uncle's eggnog again this year. I want to like it.

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
He wraps. And wraps. And wraps.

Colored lights on your tree/house or white?
Blue and white lights on the tree, red lights in the kitchen and dining room and white lights outside.

Do you hang mistletoe?
If I remember.

When do you put up decorations?
About ten days before christmas.

What does your favorite christmas meal include?
Pork products.

Favorite christmas memory from childhood?
They were all pretty terrific, but I think I really really loved that the tree was undecorated when we went to bed and Santa did it all while we were sleeping.

How and when did you learn the truth about Santa?
I suspected and asked my mom. I was nine, I think.

Do you open a gift on christmas eve?
Where I come from we didn't do that - where K comes from THAT IS ALL THEY DO.
So. Christmas eve with his family and the morning with mine. K tried to convince me to leave little things on odd days in the stockings before christmas, as surprises but I nixed it. The way I see it Santa does not have the time to make suprise visits before the big night.

How do you decorate your christmas tree?
Uh, with pretty things on little hooks? It's a hodgepodge. The kids get ornaments almost every year, we have some stuff from my childhood trees and some things we've bought together to commemorate trips or funny stories.

Snow! Love it or leave it?
LOVE IT.

Can you ice skate?
What do you think? No freakin way.

Do you remember your favorite gift?
K asking me to marry him.

What's the most important thing about christmas for you?
Being with the people I love.

What is your favorite christmas tradition?
Giving presents.

What tops your tree?
A red satin shooting star.

What is your favorite christmas song?
Silent Night.
Chokes. Me. Up.

Ooh, a meme with a theme!

Once in Royal David's City does it for me. Especially listening to the solo boy soprano singing it every year in Kings College chapel in Cambridge (broadcast on tv to us colonials).

Another vote for Little Drummer Boy. Come on! He's a LITTLE BOY! And he's PLAYING A DRUM FOR BABY JESUS! How sweet is that?

O Holy Night! My mom's favourite as well. I remember singing it in church on Christmas Eve (my B-day), very spiritual.
