Blackbird's mini wine reviews

The first of a two case series.

I bought some wine.

wine2

wine too

And I thought I'd do little reviews of each of my selections as I chose them with great care.
I have two criteria:

1. They must be under ten dollars per bottle.

2. I have to like the label.

The first bottle I opened was this one -

no
(hey, don't blame me if the picture is skewed, I'm drinking.)

It's a 2005 Lake County sauvignon Blanc.
That's California.
And it was 'vinted/cellared and bottled by No Vineyards and Winery in Healdsburg.'
Not only that, but there is
NO oak aging
NO cork
NO malolactic fermentation
NO attitude
NO kidding.
That is, according to the No vintners.
And guess what?
According to me - NO taste.

I guess I need malolactic fermentation. Or oak. I'm assuming it's the oak I miss.
I'd give it a 2.
Because it is wine.
And I'm drinking it.
Oh, and it has a cool top -

no top

I LOVE THIS IDEA.

I WILL READ EVERY REVIEW.

BECAUSE I LIKE YOU

AND I LIKE ALCOHOL.

YOU ARE BOTH TASTY TREATS.

Your criteria and my criteria match exactly.

I will eagerly await your series on reds...

(I can't drink whites anymore.)

Also, Lil Bird's comment above was one of the funniest I have ever read. Period.

And L'il Bird has one of Little Birds' handsewn creations in her icon. Which is, interesting because they are different bloggers methinks.

I like the look of that wine. But no cork? No taste?

No way.

I have a super trick for buying good cheap wine. Just buy the one with the smallest amount of bottles left on the shelf. And I learned this trick in France of all places, it always works.
