fluid pudding's final meme

Angie, at Fluid Pudding, is very special to me.
I've read her through all kinds of changes in her life and always admired her easy style, her quirky humor and her adorable and interesting children.
And, as one of the Big Girls, I was always especially excited when she left comments -
and thrilled when she linked to me.
Hey! She's fine! it's just that she's not going to be blogging in the same way that she was and I am very sad about this.
And, with her last meme (in this format? I'm not really understanding what she will be doing next, but we will ALL see soon) she has tagged me. Because she knows I like to be tagged.
And because she likes me.
Which is very nice indeed.

Why do you blog?

I blog because I am a frustrated journal keeper. I've bought many journals over the years and never written more than a page or two in any of them.
The great thing about blogging is that I can journal, I can edit myself (I tend to go on and on) and I get tremendous feedback.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging since October 2004.
During the summer of 2004, my brother B and I challenged each other to write 100 words a day. I think it was an internet challenge that B had read about and he wanted to give it a shot. So we wrote 100 words to each other in emails for a month.
He is much more of a writer and journaler than I am - he has kept a travel diary for many years, and really it should have been him who kept going after the challenge ended. But, with his encouragement, it was me - he convinced me to start a blog.

Self-portrait:

Um.
No.
I'm 5'1", kind of curvy, have short light brown hair, wear small rectangular glasses, have green eyes and thick legs.

Why do readers read your blog?

I've never asked. But a few have told me that they like reading about older kids. A couple of nice people have said that they like my take on things - some posts hit home with some readers for particular reasons and sometimes they tell me about it.

What was the last search phrase someone used to get to your site?

m&m tee
Sometimes I write about fashion.
That day I was writing about a creepy guy in the donut shop.
That was very very early in my blogging career.

Your current favorite blog:

I have 30 current favorites.

What blog did you read most recently?

News For My Peeps.

What feeds do you subscribe to?

None.
Don't know how they work, but am under the impression that one can read the text of a blog without actually SEEING the blog - which I wouldn't like as I am very visual.

Thank you Angie. You are the only person on earth who could ever make me laugh about a rattlesnake biting a baby.
And I think you're grand.

"Frustrated journal keeper" I can identify. Now I have a name for it, which is good because I like to label my issues. :)

Two of my favorite bloggers in one thanks to this post.

I have been reading your blog for sometime now, but not since the beginning-it was probably the airport post that I started with-I recently decided to read your archives and really enjoyed it. I laughed out loud when I read that you didn't know how to post pictures. Look at you now!

Nicely done, bb. Interesting to hear how you got started, and I totally agree about the feed thing -- I need to SEE the blog.

I think I came here first for the airport post - one or more people whom I read had linked to it - and then I was hooked.

I read your blog every day because I like the way you write, and I like who you seem to be through your writing. It's hard for me to read the blogs of people I don't think I'd enjoy being friends with.

I like that you are sincere, and polite/considerate - you always take the high road.

And I really do enjoy reading about life with older children, because one day, I shall be there.

for some reason i pictured you much taller. it's weird, the mental images we create for ourselves based solely on someone's writing.

Why do I read your blog?

Because you CRACK ME UP!! I love your sense of humor.

And this? What was the last search phrase someone used to get to your site?

You can actually find this out? How?

Here is what I like about bloglines (the feed service I use): you can 'subscribe' to as many blogs as you like. When you go to their site, it gives you a list of blogs with new entries. You can then either view the text on their site, or you can link directly to the actual blog. Which is what I do, being similarly visual. This way, I don't spend time clicking through blogs that haven't been updated. And it reminds me of blogs I love that rarely update, so I don't forget about them.

I use Thunderbird email, which also has a section for news & blogs. And shows most blogs' pictures. There's only three or four non-feed blogs that I still read, you being one of them. The rest conveniently comes to me in my email program.
