observations from last tuesday, updated today
It's 8am. The movers have arrived at the house next door and are loading the truck that is as long as the block (they are packing two cars in there as well). The truck is running during the loading and I will lay odds that the truck will continue to run for as long as the movers are here.
This pisses me off. (they actually shut the truck off after a little while)
It's is pleasantly cool here and has been for the past few days. This will be interrupted suddenly by searing white hot heat. It's only a matter of time. (I am a genius. searing white hot heat has set in)
We drove a Jeep last weekend, and while fun, I just can't see paying anything (and it was very very very cheap) for a vehicle that does not have functioning doors. (they were BOTH broken).
(no new info here)
I am making yet another Martha recipe for dinner. What gets me is that I am actually following the recipe for what has been my go-to meal for over a decade: fresh veg, shallots or onion, garlic, an herb (tarragon tonight) and olive oil - grate some parm on top...why am I reading this instead of just doing what I do and have done? Jerk. (Jerk)
.........red ellipses to deliniate thoughts................
Always with the funny:
Scene: We are driving, Oldest, K, myself and one of Oldest's friends - to get a rental truck to finish bringing Oldest's things home from the now sold apartment. We pass a fellow on a bike in full Lance Armstrong gear from top to toe...We silently assess his very professional ensemble.
Oldest: I just want to thank you, Dad, for riding your bike in a tee shirt and shorts.
Scene: K and I are watching Matchpoint. Youngest has decided to sit with us for a few minutes to draw. The actor on camera takes a shot gun from a case, breaks it down hurriedly and puts it in his bag.
Youngest: This isn't going to end well.
...................again..................................
Time for a show and tell, methinks -
and PJ, who is a lovely lady indeed, would like to see our coffee machines.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes -
it is today.

Happy Birthday!!!
And many more!
Why do we capitalize both words?
What? You and K didn't feel like climbing in through the jeep windows ala Bo and Luke Duke?
Oh, and you can't swing a cat around these parts without hitting some jackass all tarted up in full Lance Armstrong regalia. Because he's from here, you know. Matthew McConahoogey is from here, too, but you don't see me walking around naked with a bong and a pair of bongo drums.
so bb, you've turned 29 at last. have a lovely day!
Robin
I hope you have a lovely day.
Oh - and the bike apparel? Have K try the black tight shorts - they have padding right where you need it. They're amazing. After you experience the comfort, you never go back!
And biscotti.
And then I would invite you to shop with me.
Hippo Birdies Two Ewes,
Hippo Birdies Two Ewes,
Hippo BIRDIES, Dear BlackBird,
Hippo Birdiies Two Ewes!
With Great Affection,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We share birthday months, actually birthday weeks. I knew I liked you. Hope you had a fabulous day!
(Happy Birthday to you, dear Blackbird...)
then in Portugeuse: (Parabenspara voce!)
and if I win, finally, in Polish:
(Sto lat, sto lat, niech zyje zyje nam.
Sto lat, sto lat, niech zyje zyje nam.
Jeszcze raz, jeszcze raz, niech zyje, zyje nam.
Niech zyje nam!)
Which essentially translates to
Good luck, good cheer, may you live a hundred years.
Good luck, good cheer, may you live a hundred years.
Good luck, good cheer, may you live a hundred years.
One hundred years!
I love birthdays. I hope you enjoyed and are still enjoying yours. I usually drag it out to a week-long celebration if I can...
A photo of my coffee machine would have to be of the very nice young barista who inhabits the cafe in our building. I cannot make coffee .... teabag dangling is too ingrained.
Happy Happy Birthday.
i'm all confuzled.
i'm not confuzled when i say that i really enjoy reading you every day. that you make me think, and smile, and...and...and.
a very happy and merry, to you!
Delineate.
Happy birthday dearest.
