I was going to call this Summers Eve, but I decided against it

K was off doing some more plumbing at his mum's while I was doing laundry when the phone rang. It was our sweet friends theL's. Could we come to dinner?
Yes!
I was so excited they invited us - so pleased that someone would be wining and dining us, so happy to spend time with the L's...

We sat on their patio.
With the fan running!
It was hot...
but we didn't mind - the food was great, the conversation was great, and we had a wonderful time.
And we met new friends (and only insulted them A LITTLE) and enjoyed their company too.


We played 'guess my occupation,' at the suggestion of our hostess, I should add.
And guess what...HE'S NOT A LAWYER.

Sometimes the nicest evenings are those spur of the moment get togethers -
it is important to have plenty of fluid on hand on those warm nights.

We had beer, tequila, water, white wine, iced tea and cosmos.
We were pretty well, uh, hydrated.

There was even a surprise birthday cake for me, which made me misty.


We sat and talked and ate and laughed, under the largest tree in all of Tuvalu.


A beautiful evening.
