show and tell

For Badger - who I hope is doing all right today...
my calendar.

calendar

It's kind of sad for me.
I am a real paper and pen kind of gal.
The fact that I am using iCal is just another way that my laptop has taken over my life.
I never thought I'd be here.

Every year I would scour the stores for a calendar...it was a mission.
It had to be art work that I really wanted to look at for a year -
or have a message that meant something to me. It was a big deal.
Last year, after I could not find one that suited me, I made my own from a wonderful spiral notebook - I loved it (it is archived now with the rest of my paper calendars).
I have had filofaxes (when you could only get them in england!), fancy desk diaries, and
Mary Engelbreit easel jobs -
I was never able to get the hang of a tiny handbag version - there just wasn't enough room to write things down.
Every year I wrote down every thing we did, every place we went and then added funny/cute/warm things that the kids said.
And last year, I realized that that is what I do here.
I am writing down every thing we do, every place we go, and the funny/cute/warm things the kids say -
but here.
My calendar is now the place where I keep track of appointments.

I tried using my iCal, but there were so many days when I didn't power up the computer that I let it go.

I used to search for the perfect calendar, too. I'd start looking when the next year's calendars started to show in stores in October. I've saved many of those calendars. I'm really glad, because I came across one the other day and it was fun to look at a year of my life.

I'm up!

Hallo from Australia,
Thankyou so much for your kind comment on my Blog.
Personally I am still using my Trusty Filofax. It cost me 30 pounds, 10 years ago in the uk. It's not the tiniest one nor the biggest, it's just right. And I can access address's etc far quicker than the Bear can on his Palm pilot!!!:)

I hate writing on a beautiful paper calendar. Therefore I buy a calendar, hang it up to look at and if it helps me with the date that is a plus, otherwise I use (now) what came with the laptop. My husband and kids also give me calendars they think I will like but I can't write on those either! It is a serious hangup I have. LOL

Mine is up.

I am manic about putting stuff on the calendar. For me it doesn't exist until it's written down. I am up.

I always want a pretty picture.. I can't get used to lists on the computer.. or calendars. My hubby loves them though, so he keeps track for me.

Mine are up though.

i'm an iCal gal, too.
i like that you can set up different calendars that show up in different colors. for instance, in mine, all birthdays are red, all of my periods are in green, my occasional migraines are in purple, and everything else is in blue.
I am an electronic calender girl too.

Not to be a nag.....but have we given up completely on the eyes?

As in our own? I'm really bad at the self-portrait ala digi camera.

As you, Blackb, have encouraged me to take pix of my skylight, I recommend an upcoming s&t to be a window.

I also used to write everything in my calendar! In fact, it is because of my propensity to write all the cute fun stuff I was doing at the time, that I have a running commentary from the time I met Josh. I even have one day where I say that I met a cute boy! Heee!

My calendar is at home. I'll take a pic tonight and post!

So many S&Ters! ...just thought I'd mention that a certain pea has a special day coming up on the 8th... (or the 7th, but I'm fairly sure it's the 8th)
