It's my last week of work before I go to Germany! I have dinner dates and outfits planned and I'm going to smuggle some terrific sausage home for K. Shhhh.

I tried driving last night which was fine on an emotional level but incredibly difficult physically (my left hand cannot hold a steering wheel and I am left-handed). I'm working on it.

Oldest and I made this apple crumble. Deeeelish.
I never realized, until he started helping in the kitchen, that Oldest is quite good at cooking. Careful and methodical, he did a great job. He's well known for his slaw too.

Look at this!

It's a solar charger. Brilliant, don't you think?

I've spent a lot of time working from my bed.

I think these guidelines apply for any job, not just an internship.

Airports, hotel life, the limitations of my left hand =

Vans

Cheap sneakers that I can remove quickly and put back on without re-lacing.

My grandmother said this to us every chance she got. I haven't heard it or thought about it in years. Here it is on a dish towel.

Youngest recommends this!

K is working on making me the perfect chocolate ice cream. I can't even.

I leave on Sunday. I am terribly sad -- my friend J has left the company and I do miss her terribly. BUT, I have been invited to a dinner here and I could not be happier!

Cheap Vans!?! Where???

That crumble looks good. REALLY GOOD! I have a bunch of blueberries that I'm just not sure what to do with. I've thought through pancakes, muffins and even pie. Nothing sounds good enough.

My glasses broke Saturday afternoon and my whole life has been turned upside down. Weird huh? Totally sucks. I've found out that expediency is very costly!---but can I really wait for up to 2 weeks?

Hope youz are doing well!

Your links are always something! That bed ... I'd die if I just saw a bed like that. I'm a neat freak, sigh.

And I should add that I envy people who are happy with that. I really, truly do.
On The Mindy Project she has a guy sleeping over and he starts pulling stuff out from under the covers. She tells him he is sleeping on the "storage side of the bed"

I've been making pie with all my apples. Your crumble looks so good.

I hope you have a safe and happy trip to Germany.

Oh, apple crumble! My fall/winter addiction (along with a wonderful pear crisp from a Laurie Colwin recipe).

And thank youngest for me for that docu link. I adore beautiful and thoughtfully designed everyday objects. I almost, almost majored in industrial design...

Oh that tea towel, I sing that to the ducklings all the time. My grandmother said that to us all the time too.
