I lucked out recently at Goodwill and found the sweetest Chantal teapot with a high curved handle, very mid-century modern (and just a few bucks). It reminded me a lot of the Bee House teapots from Japan I've been lusting after at Uwajimaya (an Asian grocery store here in the PacNW). The Bee House pots come in a whole range of colors. I'm pretty sure you could find them in NYC.
