post storm, still

Lots of places along the main roads got power last night, and my office has power now as well so I get to go to work on Monday, which will be lovely. We are still in the dark.
K and I are sitting in Starbucks as I wanted coffee in a paper cup - do you ever have that yen, those of you who work in offices? Beverages in a paper cup are a different animal.
Across the street at the train station, a huge semi has arrived with emergency supplies.
The main drag and several blocks around it are one big line for the gas station.
It's a bit surreal.

Meanwhile... I won an epic game of storm scrabble, 465 to 291

Don't buy this stuff. It's spoiled.

Burgers in the dark...exceedingly-rare, have-to-eat-it-meat, bloody clown face!

The dining room is a war zone.

New fence.
Sigh.
Only four more sections to replace - no gas to go get them.

 NO JUICE.

Oh God, bb. I have thought about you every day, and worried about you, but apparently not enough to open my laptop and check-in. Truth is, I was sure you would be just fine with the 4 clever men in your life. Still, those pics of the trees on your house made me catch my breath. My heart breaks for Tuvalu and adjacent areas. What a horrible storm. Love you.

So glad you get to go to work on Monday. Get a breather, of a sort. I keep wondering how everyone in your area is going to vote, with no gas, and no power. Any clue?

Nice to see you have your chin up, even without juice.
