okay, fine, I WON'T WEAR PANTS

I'm done.

I have half a dozen dresses and an equal number of skirts. I have lots and lots of wonderful accessories and am very good at using them. But, it would appear that I'm not going to find lightweight, summer-ish, pants to wear to work and I'm tired of looking for them.

- you know, just in case you were on the edge of your chair wondering....

Now that you have stopped looking, you'll find them - I expect a photo on here when you do.

I agree with Terese. I'm sure if you wait, you'll find some amazing pants at an even more amazing price.

BTW, I'd like to know your thoughts on capris with HEELS.
I'll keep my mouth shut.

Dear Classicist:

My gut reaction is that I do not like capris with HEELS. It seems to me that capris lend themselves to flats. Unless, of course, you are a Real Housewife. (Oh! I could go ON.)

Dresses seem to be very in vogue at the moment and they're so easy to wear. I loved that about this summer, particularly as I was still sporting my post-baby waistline :-)

Yeah...they will show up soon now that you've given up on them. In a most surprising place, I bet.

Banana Republic ???
They've always been good for me when it comes to pants (and shoes). And I'm 6' feet tall -- well fitting pants are hard to find.
It's a sad state of affairs when a skirt or dress is the only remaining option, but I've no doubt you've given your best efforts.

Perhaps it is time to break out the sewing machine?

My veri word is butsta. I am not quite sure how to take that...

If it weren't for jeans, I would be pantless too.

I'll even you out because I own lots of pants, no skirts and no dresses. There is still balance in the universe.

I'll bet you'll look very lady-like and dainty in your spring dresses. While the rest of us clomp around in our very butch clogs and pants.

PS-I happen to be wearing capris from the Republic of Banana today...and I KNOW there's a pair just waiting for you there. Somewhere. Hidden. Dig, girl!

Have you tried any Prana pants? Not their yoga-wear, but just cute capris? http://www.prana.com/010-Womens-Capris-Knickers.aspx

I live in mine, they're 3-4 years old and are just the best things ever. REI usually has a good selection.

I agree, now that you've stopped hunting they'll start falling out of the sky!

In case you are wondering why there are no comments from across the pond it is because we are struggling with the great language divide and the implications for the title of this post.

Go to a Gap outlet store! I have been wearing a skirt uniform for years but we hit the jackpot yesterday with their trouser fit (in both floor length and capri).

Take heart. The stores will be carrying amazing fall ensembles any minute now, so maybe you'll score something new for autumn before summer even hits.
