One of my all time favorite movies, we watch it way more often than we probably should. My favorite plot line is the Emma Thompson/Alan Rickham one. Gets me EVERY time, especially at the Christmas play. And Auralia... OMG, her sister slays me every time we see it.
Great movie and just perfect for this time of year.
Alan Rickman AND Colin Firth AND Liam Neeson AND Emma Thompson all in one movie! I love this ... almost as much as Truly, Madly, Deeply or You've Got Mail.
I'm glad that youngest loved it - not at all surprised, tho!
I told Sorority Girl that she HAS to watch it with me over Christmas break.
Both kids told me I HAVE to watch Batman: The Dark Knight with them over Christmas Break.
I love the little boy in Love Actually

Great timing for this post, bb-- I put Love Actually at the top of my Netflix queue yesterday, and it should get here any minute now. It's an annual favorite around here too. Thanks for the link to your prior post about it. And what fun comments.
It's one of my favorites. Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Alan Rickman... Awesome. I tear up over the fading rock star and his manager every time.

One of my favorites, too -- must request it from the library so we can watch it on Christmas. Thanks for the reminder.
Oh, how I love this movie. That Canadian Boy I Married and I were just saying today that it's time to watch it again.

Totally Great Timing! It just ended 10 minutes ago. The oprah network just played it back to back to back. 3 times in a row. I watched it 1.5 times, all the while asking myself why I was watchhing it with adds when I own a copy on dvd. That scene at the lake always cracks me up, then ends so sadly. Then Bravo followed it up with Serendipity. Total estrogen overdose going on here. All I need now is The Jane Austen Book Club! Good Lord, I think my penis just fell off!
Such a great, heart warming movie and the airport scene at the end is perfection.
I saw Bill Nighy in the Girl in the Cafe the other night. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time..

Ha. We just watched it, too! I like Bill Nighy the best. Second best, I think Hugh Grant and Natasha. (And Hugh Grant dancing.) Laura Linney annoys me, too -- something about how the sappy look in her eyes, or her sanctimonious head nodding. Her story line is just too sad. I like the Emma Thompsen/Alan Rickman line, but it is sad. Sad in a real way. I love it when the chauffeur sings Good King Wenceslaus. Good movie.

It is almost definitely my favouritist movie EVER!!! I cry every time, and I ALWAYS watch it on telly, and I own the DVD too.
I find Emma Thompson's story incredibly moving and sad. And I love the Hugh/Natalie story - such chemistry! Laura Linney is just so noble, but the sizzle between her and her gorgeous young man is something else.
And COlin Firth - don't get me started! I love that they are on the same wavelength from scratch in their two languages.
Even the adult film couple are adorable - did Youngest get that bit? or was it edited/blanked out
I watched it last night! I ADORE that movie. A true Christmas classic.

I love that Youngest watched it...we're still hanging with Miracle on 34th Street for a few years...much as I adore that film, Team Testosterone is wee bit young.
I just noticed it on the shelf last night. I'm going to watch it tonight with my kids. The last one arrives today - mine are 24,22 and 20... Enjoy your holiday, bb.
