all the news that's fit

Pure news, nothing but news, bulleted list-

  • I have convinced Oldest to quit his job. It was a toxic environment, I am happier to have him here. He's depressed about the lack of funds but is easily employable.
  • Middle is done with regular school. Exams over the next week or so.
  • Middle and Youngest will play at graduations.
  • K has a scattered schedule of days off and days in town.
  • I've been doing lots of laundry.
  • K did all the planting and our yard looks pretty.
  • We are plugging away on our cookbook.
  • We've had our annual alone-at-the-beach day.
  • Youngest's braces are set to come off sometime within the next couple of months.
  • He will have a permanent retainer on his lowers into his 20's.
  • We will attempt to halve his steroids when we get home from the Cape.
  • Spent the day in the hospital with him after he experienced some acute and sudden pain and some things had to be ruled out.
  • He's fine and attending a bar mitzvah today.

So sadly, still no popcorn...

I'd like to talk to you about that cookbook, I think it's a brilliant idea for gift giving.

Plugging away at your cookbook? You have my interest.

There was a time when I wished that someone I knew would have tried to convince their oldest to quit his job. Like you said it was a toxic environment, and he would have been better off otherwise. It's hard when they are oldest's and they have lives of their own... isn't it.

Can we see pictures of the pretty yard?

So happy to hear about the plans to halve youngest's steroids. Please post at some point about how that goes. We're planning to do some steroid weaning of the asthmatic husband this year if possible....

Halving his steroids--I hope, really hope you can do this with success.
Slowly, I would assume the doctors told you. Decreasing steroids has to be done slowly in order to get all the body's natural systems back to their regular "go" state.

I know you know this.

I really wish you well with this.
Fingers crossed.

Thinking good thoughts for Oldest and Youngest; my congratulations re the braces; such a milestone for Youngest. Even with new apparatus, I can feel his relief from here. Just in time for corn on the cob.

Best of luck cutting down on the steroids. Less is better, but let's thank the world for them. My mom has managed her asthma with steroids for periods of time over the years they've been availble. She's really smart and organized about managing her condition now, but we are so grateful to have something that works so well.

Sounds like you're doing a good job of keeping life humming

You're allowed. To take the day off, I mean. Anyone who complains can be sent to me--where I will show them what bi-monthly posting looks like and they can gasp and shudder and remember how wonderfully regular you are :).

Cookbook? I'm intrigued. And it's just not fair having to go to school in JUNE.
