I don't know where he came from
The scene: the car. Bb is driving Youngest home from church.
bb: You know, I've just realized something...you don't really like cheese. I mean, I know I usually make you something different for dinner on nights when we are having something really cheesy, but you don't even snack on cheese with us - like when we put out a cheese plate, you don't eat any of it.
Youngest: So. How's that whole parenting thing going?

Our Youngest is a cheese-avoiding child, too. Except for pizza.
ACK! I just noticed your date stamp - It is APRIL 15th! ACK!
Don't worry, there is still a chance to convert him, I just made my roommate become a cheese lover and she's 20.
One of these days...
What is it about cheese that he doesn't like?
I've been reading your blog for some time; once even sent in a note inquiring about working vs. not working and you were AMAZINGLY nice and kind in your reply.
Just writing to say I LOVE your blog, your pictures and your persevering, "glass is always half-full" attitude towards life.
Also, I missed a few days and saw, through your writings, that someone had apparently written something not kind. Whoever and whatever they said, it made me upset that someone did that and I was glad to see that you didn't let it stop you from continuing.
So, to introduce myself to you: I'm approaching 50, Irish-American, Catholic, Democrat, living in Connecticut, divorced, working full-time and going to school part-time, with one great 19 year old son away at college. Life's been good to me!
Youngest's "how's that parenting thing going" comments made me laugh out loud and reminded me SO MUCH of my son's observations at that age.
Thanks for the writing (and decorating tips!!--love your style!)
*"hoping" is the word as I am not sure I remember my google account!
Saorise - BRAVO! I'm so pleased you registered to comment, and it is very kind of you to be supportive - I do so appreciate your coming forward and introducing yourself and your encouragement.
That's like me realizing one of my boys is a Socialist or a fan of Barry Manilow or something equally awful.
Let me know if you need candles lit or an exorcism or something.
-J.
Mine is also a funny kid. Except when he isn't.
I don't think there is necessarily any correlation between cheese-hating and humor.
Sounds like something my brother would say.
