This is what I'll do to help myself feel it...
each day, between now and then, I promise to do something in the spirit of the season -
for someone else.
And I'm going to smile more.
If I can't feel it, the least I can do is try to spread it around.

Don't expect me to post about the things I do -
they could be as small as holding the door at the hardware store for a full five minutes while a confused, shabby-looking old man made his way with his walker or as large as bringing a gift to someone who doesn't expect it. I don't think good deeds are real if you brag about them.

My real reward for holding the door at the hardware store was watching the old man lumber slowly to the market next door and buy a dozen roses.

Ah, go ahead and crow. Why should talking about them make them any less good at the time?
I liked hearing about that old fellow, for instance. The story was sweet.

This is the best blog post ever! Remind me, I have a great story about drinking wine. Loses something when it's written.
